If your home rink is 60 miles or more away from the tournament rink, you are considered an out-of-town-team and are required to stay to play at the tournament host hotels.

Please complete accurately to ensure Showdown Tournaments secures the correct number of rooms.

Your team is considered an out of town team when your home rink is 60 miles or more away from the tournament rink.

Showdown Tournaments contracts and books the rooms directly with the hotels for the teams. Our process has many steps to collect as listed below:

Showdown contracts with hotels 3-6 months prior to tournament date.
Teams complete hotel rooming list as part of application process.
Showdown emails teams list of hotel choices 4-5 week before tournament.
Teams submit hotel choices in ranking order for Showdown to consider.
Showdown places teams and emails rooming list to hotels for confirmation.
The Hotel will request a Credit Card from the team contact to Hold Rooms – (Your Card Will Not Be Charged; at later date individual family credit cards will need to be submitted to the hotel through the hotel's process)
Team contact follows up with the hotel contact to firm up rooming list.
Team families do not contact hotels directly as reservations are made using the rooming lists.
There are no complimentary rooms for coaches or managers at the host hotels.

The host hotel will require a credit card to be submitted with when they contact you to secure and hold your room block. Once hotels have been selected and assigned, your team families will communicate any adjustments to their room needs through you, as the team contact. Each hotel will provide their process for obtaining every family's credit card for their room payment.

Showdown Skills Event & Pin Exchange

We invite all teams to participate in the Showdown Skills Event. The competition for each group takes approximately 30-45 minutes. We organize this competition to allow each player on every team to participate in at least one event. We stress that the skills events provide teams with a less serious atmosphere and are designed to be fun.

All players must wear full equipment and coaches need to bring skates, gloves and wear helmets. The teams within each group will compete against one another for the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals.

The Pin Exchange is a great opportunity for teams to trade or exchange pins or other keepsakes with the teams in tournament. It also provides teams the opportunity to engage in off-ice conversation and make new friends and contacts. We encourage all teams to participate in the Showdown Skills Event and Pin Exchange to make the most of your tournament experience.

Teams must make full payment to have a completed application on file with Showdown Tournaments.

Each completed application receives a time stamp, which will be used to determine tournament acceptance and hotel priority. We will not guarantee tournament or hotel placement for your team until payment has been received.

Terms and Conditions of Acceptance

It is understood and agreed that by completing this application for Showdown Tournaments, the sponsors, directors, and members assume no legal liability for injuries or other losses as a result of participation in or traveling to or from the tournament and all facilities used for the event.

All teams must be prepared to play at least one game each day of the tournament.

All teams must be prepared to play at the earliest and latest scheduled game time. Crabtown and Country & Western games start around 7 am or 8 am on first day and end around 6 pm-7 pm on the last day. Capital Showdown starts around 10 am on first day and ends around 7pm on last day.

All players participating in the tournament must be on one single USA Hockey certified roster that is approved by Showdown Tournaments. No Dual Rostering.

All out-of-town teams are required to stay at the host hotels provided by the tournament (60 miles or more from their home arena). As a condition of the contract all host hotels agreed to sponsor and provide compensation to the tournament to offset its costs

All team coaches, managers and representatives, players, parents, and fans agree to abide by all tournament rules as set forth by the tournament committee on its website, materials provided to team contacts, and posted at the rinks.
