🤠🏒 Eve of the 35th Country & Western Showdown – Music City Style 🏒🤠
Broadway lights and a six-string sound,
But the real show’s waiting at the rinks in town.
For 35 years in Nashville, sticks hit the ice,
Where youth hockey dreams come rolling in nice.
78 teams, skates packed on a the plane or in the van,
From 8U rookies to 14U who’ve got a game plan.
From Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, NJ and PA,
North Carolina, Georgia, Florida on the way.
With Ohio, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama too—
Music City and its hockey community welcoming you.
From Georgia, the road hums southbound tunes:
Atlanta Center Ice, Ice Bandits, and Madhatters roll in soon.
From Florida sunshine and warm air,
The Pensacola Jr Ice Flyers, Cyclones Rec, Jr. Skunk Apes,
And Gulf Coast Pythons glide in there.
From Ohio ice come engines that roar—
Cincinnati Jr Cyclones, Findlay Jr Trojans, Miami Jr Redhawks,
And the Columbus Capitals ready to score.
From Kentucky ice the hockey runs strong,
The Louisville IceCards, Northern Kentucky Norse,
And Owensboro Rampage skating along.
From Missouri rinks and Midwest nights,
The Chesterfield Falcons, Meramec Sharks,
And St. Peters Hockey bring their stride to the ice.
From Pennsylvania’s hockey highways,
The Erie Jr Otters, York Devils,
And South Pittsburgh Rebellion come to play.
From Mississippi ice, the Memphis Jr Riverkings arrive,
Ready for Music City where hockey comes alive.
From Alabama, the energy flowing—
Huntsville Jr Chargers and Jr Havoc ready to get going.
From Illinois, bright flashes in sight—
The Twin Bridges Lightning bring thunder tonight.
From North Carolina, a Carolina crew:
The Carolina Jr Canes leading the view,
With the Queen City Royals wearing the crown,
And Polar Ice Selects rolling into town.
Many Showdowns this season—the Carolina teams represent the way,
A tradition that grows every year they play.
And right here at home in Tennessee’s heart,
Where hockey families gather and friendships start:
The Nashville Jr Predators, Nashville Flyers,
And Nashville Warriors ready to roll.
New hockey clubs stepping on the Music City stage,
Repping New Jersey and Florida along the way—
The Hunterdon Bears, Cutting Edge King Cobras,
And Cyclones Hockey Rec join the play.
With hockey in their hearts and a song in their stride,
Skates sharp and ready with teammates beside.
Like a rhythm and chorus that brings fans to their feet,
Tomorrow the ice turns the music to beat.
So rest up tonight while the country music plays low…
Tomorrow the puck drops on Music City’s youth hockey show.
🤠🏒🤠 Welcome to the 35th Country & Western Showdown
🏒Yours in Hockey, Brian & Whitney
